unnecessary controversy

My take on the brouhaha generated by the president sallah message to nigerians, is that I personally didn't have problem with that, but you are free to have problem with that if you don't understand hausa.
I'm among those advocating for our leaders to use our local language to communicate to their followers, especially the legislators, because I see no reason why they use our local language to campaign because they knew that the electorate will not understand them if they use English to campaign, but use English in the chamber to speak for the people that do not understand English, which explain why the electorate only rate their representative base on constituency project and other financial assistance, not base on the bills and grammar they are speaking in the chambers.
99percent of those criticizing the president for using hausa are just been mischievous, not that they do not understand the message. I am very sure that even if the president use English, they would have still complain that he sound sickly or he should have use video instead of audio broadcast. And we should not forget that hausa is the third most spoken in Africa and most spoken language in Nigeria, which means that most nigerians will understand his message better in hausa than in English.
Don't also forget that the message was a sallah message and 95percent of those celebrating sallah understand hausa, while 95percent of those complaining about the message are not even celebrating the sallah from the first place (In ba karambani ba ina ruwan biri da gada) u can interpret this proverb, but you have problem with Mr President speaking in hausa, my brother demons pursue you from your village? Our major problem is that we give too mush enfacise to English language than our local language as if we were the only country that was colonize by the British.
Come to think of it, what is your problem with the message? Is it because that you are celebrating sallah and you couldn't understand his message in hausa or you just value foreign language than hausa? If you prefer foreign language than hausa, I'm sure you will prefer a foreigner than your hausa brother. And if you have problem with the message because you do not understand hausa, please look for interpreter.
My point is that the president make the broadcast in good faith, but those that always want to find fault in him, make sure they generate controversy in his sallah message. Hausa man said, even if you land inside water, those that want to find fault in you will accuse you for raising dust at them. May God bless Nigeria
